Sonic Battle TrackList
The current track list and bands set to play for Sonic Battle's soundtrack!

Band 1 [Main Band] (Light Dash)

An all-boys hard rock group of 4 consisting of a Guitarist, a Bass player, a Drummer, and an Organist. To spearhead the fake band concept inspired by the Splatoon series, the band takes great inspiration from C-Side from Splatoon 3, which happens to be the Lead Band in the game.

  • Title Screen
  • Emerald Beach
  • Chao Ruins
  • Battle On The Death Egg
  • Staff Roll 1
  • Dr. Eggman’s Theme
  • Event: Confrontation
  • Challenge Mode Opening
  • Green Hill Zone
  • Results Battle (x2)
  • Battle Mode
  • Mode Select
  • Emerald Town
  • Event: Enter Shadow
  • Challenge Mode Clear

For “Results Battle,” I had the idea to split it into a Victory and Defeat variation. Victory would play if you get 1st out of 4. The defeat version would have two segments. The would be a normal for getting 2nd or 3rd out of 4, while a defeat jingle would play before this normal segment if you get last.

Band 2 (Chao Bytes)

Triplet sisters forming an unconventional band with a classical pianist, an orchestral percussionist, and an aspiring chiptune artist. Their wealthy family owns agricultural rights to a Chao Garden. Three Chao from this garden often join them, playing toy instruments and singing along.

  • Amy’s Room
  • Library
  • Character Unlocked

For the game of Sonic Battle, they don’t play much, but I plan to reintroduce them in the Advance trilogy. I also plan to have them play other Chao-related songs outside the scope of the GBA project. I predict that this band will become the most popular of the current lineup, so I’ve put great thought into their reappearance.

Band 3 (*Negative Thinner*)

A 4-piece group consisting of a DJ, Electric Pianist, Trumpet/Sax player, and Guitarist. Their style mixes Hip Hop, Lo-Fi, Dance, and Afro-Brazilian jazz. Their instruments utilize Hyper-Go Energy obtained from the band’s wisp friends, creating all sorts of strange effects not typically heard from their corresponding instruments.

  • Central City
  • Event: History
  • Night Baylon
  • Club Rouge
  • Chaos Theme
  • Staff Roll 2
  • Battle Record

I’m not sold on the name. Its a bit too convoluted to get the reference. The name for this band was invited before I decided to have each band highlight a concept/element in the Sonic universe. Another notably name I came up with was “Black Emerald” since they’re implied to have more of street stye to their aesthetic but obviously, its not Wisp related. This name was created before I specifically settled on the Wisps. Please feel free to suggest any band names in the #feedback channel on Discord.

Band 4 (-TBD-)

I want this band to handle the heavy electronics found in the game’s soundtrack. The electronic genre is my least adaptable at the time of writing, so it’ll likely be a while before you hear any songs from them. I imagine a band of two. One of them is an engineer who has built three robots designed to handle various musical roles directed toward sound design, sampling, and glitch effects.

The 2nd is a Guitarist but also a Violinist and often passes samples to the 1st band member for him to add all sorts of complex effects. The two create Drum and Bass, Dubstep, and other heavy Electronic styles with a Heavy Rock twist to them.

  • Battle Highway
  • Gimmer Shelter
  • Metal Depot
  • Emeral’s Theme
  • Colosseum
  • Skill Edit
  • Death Egg

You may have noticed that most of the bands were designed with a faithful recreation of the soundtrack in mind while adding unique twists to them in line with concepts from the Sonic universe. To this end, Tails Lab and Holy Summit fall outside all the pre-existing band’s musical identity.

I’m on the fence about giving Tails Lab to Band 4. Given the track list and style, I hear Band 4 doing more dark/heavy or atmospheric stuff. Tails Lab seems like the odd one out in that sense, but Band 4 is the only band that “would” play it. For Holy Summit, it doesn’t fit any of the bands at all for me to make a faithful recreation.

For both, I’m debating creating their own respective bands. For this, I want to reuse these bands in the Advance Trilogy, but I have no idea what other songs they would play at the time of writing.

For Holy Summit specifically, I would like to do something interesting. I’d read somewhere that most of Sonic Adventure’s aesthetics was taken from Mayan civilizations (correct me if i’m wrong). It’d be cool to do Holy Summit in a style taken from Mayan as well.

Regardless, I’d really love your opinions on this so leave them in the #feedback channel on Discord.
